Helsinki University Science Fiction Club (est. 13.10.1987) has promoted science fiction and fantasy literature for 24 years. Our club is also a meeting place for science fiction enthusiasts and like. We organize movie nights, parties and other events throughout the year and we are also one of the organizers for Finncon when the con is in Helsinki.

Events for autumn 2011

We gather for club meetings every thursday at 17.00 and every other week (odd numbered weeks) we move on to a larger science fiction gathering at St. Urhos Pub.
Mostly we are at the clubroom for at least 18.00 and often longer.

- Club meeting 15.9. Getting to know people, planning the next issue of Marvin magazine and moving on together to Mafia at St. Urho's pub.
- Gathering for new and old members at the clubroom 22.9 17.00-> Science Fiction, music, games and some refreshments.
- Sauna 1.10 especially for new members.
- TV series night 2.10. We watch a number of classic scifi/fantasy tv-series.
- Movie night  15.10. Rocky Horror Picture Show - Audience participation
- Helsinki book fair 27.-30.10. HYSFK has our own section and science fiction programming.
- Also coming later in the year is our Christas party! Presenting the epic return of Joulu-Jyrki!
